Honestly, I'm exhausted by the barrage of information on chemicals that will kill and maim us. Has anyone read the article in Parents magazine? Now I see one on CNN.com that is just as scary. In short, the only escape seems to be not to sit on anything, or cook anything, or drink anything, breath anything, or touch anything. Anywhere. At any time. But I guess that's just as well, since we also should not drink milk or juice or eat meat or vegetables or fish. Or else we'll be deathly ill. In which case you cannot take medicine. That will destroy the liver. Or something.
All the might be related to and may be a contributing factor. It's all so overwhelming. Can someone do a study that isn't frivolous or totally alarming? And can you actually come to actual conclusions before you scare everyone? The world is, it seems, unavoidably toxic. Cheese and crackers . . . .

And yet, somehow, we've managed to stay alive so far. That's something, right? (And suggests that the "might be's" aren't necessarily "is's", at least not every time? Wow, those verbs don't pluralize nicely, do they?)
Oh, boy, am I with you on this one. Every time I find out more I'm terrified.
We tossed all the plastic cups, utensils, bathtoys, and storage containers. We won't eat out of cans. We got rid of any furniture with particle board. We washed the car seat covers a dozen times to lessen the flame retardant chemicals. We have to check lists and studies to choose shampoo and sunscreen. And we're going broke buying all organic food.
It makes me want to stop reading, because it's honestly driving me nuts. Every time I find something we have to ban something else from the house.
Why are these things still legal? Why aren't there rules that they have to prove safety before using chemicals? Why do they feed diseased cows to chickens and chicken poop to cows? Who the hell runs these companies? And the government? And how much cheaper and easier would denial be, 'cuz I'm looking into that.
