Thoughts not quite related to Easter

  • Okay, fine. I'm about half way through The Help and, well, it's getting better. I'm kind of, almost interested. Oh, and I've found some African American women who do actually like it. Some people might think that this means I was wrong, but it doesn't, okay?

  • It's near the semester's end and the sentence "I just want to talk to you about my grade" rings through the hallway outside the department office doors.

  • Again, who are the people who are seriously interested in the royal wedding? I think journalists are insisting that Americans want to know so that they can take a trip themselves.

  • Trying again to relay the resurrection story to my children. I thought it would be more and more difficult as they grew older and understood more, but they absorb it and are less freaked out by it than I thought. That makes me happy.

"I just want to talk to you about my grade" always seems to turn into "I just want to tell you why you should give me an A even though I didn't do all the work." Sigh.

Exactly right. That's why I hide after classes end. That limits the "Have you seen Dr. So-and-so?" question, plus, it means that students in my classes have to email me. Ridiculous electronic conversations are much shorter.

1. Now I think I'll read it.
2. I totally hear you on that.
3. Just this morning I started getting interested. As a student of Brit Lit, I'm intrigued by the historical aspect of the ceremony. But the whole she-bang starts about 1:00am my time, so I doubt I'll see it live.
4. Talked about Easter to my kids. They ask amazing questions.

BTW, I've been thinking of you, imagining a post in your voice about Donald Trump. I predict that this is the beginning of the end for that guy. Cause I mean, really? I'm just glad someone that famous is demonstrating that the "birthers" are truly whack jobs. I could go off on this. Cause I mean, REALLY.

GEW: You totally should live in my head! I DO have a post planned about The Donald! I just haven't had time to write it. You are so right--REALLY?
